Since 1988, Michael has worked in Danish agriculture. The first 2 years were in pig production at Touvsgaard in Thy, but he quickly became interested in working in the field.
He therefore already switched in 1990 to work at Skinnerup Machine Station, which was part of the same property as the pig production.
The owners of Skinnerup Machine Station, Jens and Ejner Kirk, were never afraid to optimize even brand new equipment for the field, and it quickly became clear that Michael’s skills and interest in machines could help optimize the machine station’s equipment.
The first major project Michael made was a combination machine where you could both spread slurry, set up a ridge, and sow corn in one and the same operation.
With small modifications, this machine setup could, among other things… be changed to beets, and parsnips.
In 2007, Michael began to tinker with the possibilities for mechanical cleaning between potato ridges. In the early days, a Horward star roller cleaner, among other things, was modified.
It quickly became clear that there was nothing on the market that could handle the task satisfactorily, no matter how much Michael modified it. Instead, he now begins to develop the first actual MSR product!
In the period leading up to 2018, Michael works full-time at the machine station and uses almost all of his free time to develop the Opti Weeder into the product we know today. Of course with a number of modifications since.
In 2020, Michael entered into close collaboration with Fasterholt Maskinfabrik and farmer Henning Thybo. Both could see great potential in the machines Michael had developed, and had a desire to contribute to MSR’s continued growth story.
Most recently (2025), Glenn Pedersen, Washpower, joined the ownership.
Today, MSR machines have been sold in Denmark, Germany, the Faroe Islands, and the Netherlands.
